Try mindustry you think factorio is complex mindustry logic and electrical components are just as complex maybe even more since its a RTS game supreme commander BS you also have a never ending production unit that has 5 tier or in short alot and i mean alot of spaghetti

So, i have 600 or so hours on factorio. I know. Rookie numbers. But i actually QUIT playing factorio so often, IN ORDER to write mods for the game. Thats right. I literally quit playing factorio so often so i could do whatever i wanted with factorio.

the analogy works better if you reverse them, output in factorio becomes input in software engeneering

No, it teaches you layout design and logistics. Things used in software engineering, but also in most other forms of engineering and STEM fields.

I just started playing Factorio and it really felt like my brain uses the same areas it uses when I programm 😀

I feel like the same can be said about alot of games honestly. Satisfactory, techtonia, etc. even Modded Minecraft to an extent, any game where automation via machines kinda follows this same idea. I love the content tho keep doin u <3

I didn't know whether to laugh of cry when the attention aids came up. It's commendable to be, in a sense, that self aware but also aware of the tendencies of your peers in the field.

No CLue if you are still working on a followup or anything else. But i would say pake this into a multiple parts series. Where you go deeper in the comparison analyses. and how skills from Factory games pass over to software engenering. also the speed at which you talk and the gaps between serious topic and joke is good. so the format works. You can present it slightly more confident because what you say sounds logically acceptable. then again the awkwardish uncertainty also has very nice charm if you feel good doing it presenting it this way keep it as is. Love the current format just saying that you can be more sure of what you are saying :)

This really explains why I was addicted by automation/factory games since I was young. I ended up discovering my interest towards software engineering!
